The Oberon Way is a to have a powerful sense of belonging, and we pride ourselves on a wellbeing focus to assist in our student’s health throughout their time at Oberon. Every member of the Oberon High School community has a right to fully participate in an educational environment that is safe, supportive, and inclusive and we strive to achieve this for our students.
Everyone deserves to be treated with care, respect, and dignity. Students, staff, and families are supported by our qualified wellbeing team who works with wider teams within and beyond our school to develop a school culture where all individual students’ matter, are valued, accepted and able to develop to their full potential.
At our Wellbeing Team we focus on building strong and meaningful relationships with students and providing purposeful and targeted challenges to support the student to reach their full potential. We believe that student wellbeing should be a focus on what we do and what we priorities as a key element.
We have a multi-disciplinary team at Oberon Highschool offering a range of different support to students, staff, and parents. We have a Mental Health Practioner (MHP), visiting Headspace Psychologist, Student Wellbeing Co-Ordinator, and Chaplain.
We have weekly wellbeing meetings to manage referrals, the needs of students and community and have an evidence-based approach to holistic health to improve children’s wellbeing.
The Student Wellbeing Team can support parents with advice and referrals to appropriate agencies and external support services to assist with any concerns that the family may be facing that impacts upon their child at Oberon.
Parents can complete a referral form to Wellbeing Team.
