Enhancement Program

The Enhancement Program is for dynamic students who are passionate about learning and are ready to embrace all the opportunities that Oberon High School has to offer.

Students in our program are enthusiastic, collaborative team members, self-motivated learners, and community minded leaders. Furthermore, these students assist in the support and development of their peers and contribute positively to the school culture.

If this sounds like your child, then our enhancement program will provide them greater opportunity for an engaging high school experience.

PLEASE NOTE: This is not an academic acceleration program. All students at Oberon are catered to by teachers from their point of need.

Features of the Select Entry Enhancement Program at Oberon High School:

Select entry class for students who demonstrate a high level of ability
in a range of areas including; academic, leadership, citizenship
and innovation.
Students access a range of engaging learning environments through a variety of additional excursions, activities, competitions and opportunities.
Students complete level 3 and 4 of the compass awards during year 7 and 8. They also have the opportunity to extend this in year 9 by enrolling in the Duke of Edinburgh award.
All students from the enhancement program will be encouraged to accelerate into vce with at least one vce subject being completed in
year 10.

Entry at Year 7

The school wishes to share its collegiate pride and success with the community by offering a range of scholarships which support its educational philosophy that all students can learn, progress and excel in a particular field of endeavour. Scholarships are redeemable against School expenses including school fees and text books.

The scholarship process will begin in August once your child’s enrolment has been confirmed. From there, students will complete an application and interview to apply for their chosen scholarship. Students are welcome to apply for more than one scholarship.

Academic Excellence Scholarships

Continuing Oberon’s rich tradition of academic excellence
this scholarship will be awarded to a student who demonstrates outstanding achievement in one or more of English, Mathematics or Science. Students will need to demonstrate a thirst for knowledge and a passion for learning.

Number to be awarded — School discretion
Length of Scholarship Offer — Two years
Value — Full value of School Fees for Years 7 and 8, iPad, Year 7 Camp, Education Perfect package for Years 7 and 8 and all Excursions for Years 7 and 8 (to the value of $3,000)

Student Leadership Scholarships

Student leadership is the fundamental core of any successful school. Oberon prides itself on producing the leaders of tomorrow. This scholarship will be awarded to a student who displays exemplary leadership skills including communication, initiative, motivation and a passion to guide and direct peers.

Community (Good Citizenship) Scholarships

Oberon is proud of the citizens it creates. The Community (Good Citizenship) scholarship is awarded to a young citizen who has made a significant contribution in their community be it school or other. The applicant needs to demonstrate a strong social conscience and an outstanding attitude towards their schoolwork.

Sporting Excellence Scholarships

With a history of producing exceptional sportspeople such as Patrick Dangerfield and Travis Boak, the Sporting Excellence scholarship will be awarded to a student displaying high promise in their chosen sporting area. Along with personal sporting achievements the applicant must display exemplary sportsmanship.

Creative Arts Scholarships

Oberon values creativity in all its forms, and encourages students to express their individuality. This scholarship will be awarded to a student who has outstanding experience and skills in either performing or visual arts. Enthusiasm and participation, as well as talent will be highly regarded.
