Year 9 at Oberon offers students the opportunity to start selecting parts of their own program. The Arts/Technology subjects are offered for a whole semester and students choose 4 subjects based on their personal preference (Two Arts and two Tech).
Along with the elective classes students maintain their core subjects with English & Mathematics organised so that students are in class with like ability students.

Year 10 sees the students have a major choice on what their program looks like. English and Mathematics are the only year long compulsory subjects with all other areas offering semester long subjects of 5 periods per week..
It is expected that a student pick at least 1 subject from each key learning area over the year.

VCE consist of 22 units taken over two years. Students do six subjects at year 11 and five subjects at year 12. These subjects may include approved VET units. You are required to do English each semester. Oberon offers a diverse range of subjects offering our students the opportunity to explore a expansive career pathway. The VCE Vocational Major (VM) prepares students to move into apprenticeships, traineeships, further education and training, university (via non-ATAR pathways) or directly into the workforce.
To be eligible to receive the VCE VM, students will study units from:
VCE VM LITERACY OR VCE ENGLISH UNITS (INCLUDING A UNIT 3–4 SEQUENCE)
VCE VM NUMERACY OR VCE MATHEMATICS UNITS
VCE VM WORK RELATED SKILLS UNITS
VCE VM PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT SKILLS UNITS
VET CREDITS AT CERTIFICATE II LEVEL OR ABOVE (180 NOMINAL HOURS)
